The price of passion...
are sleepless nights and a tired expression on your face.
This week was one of the most hectic and haranguing weeks I have ever had so far (and that's counting a lot) ever. I've had to balance everything between being one of April's personal campaign managers, neglected acad requirements ganging up on me, work, and the vestiges of a social life. Nyahaha.
Last Monday, I submitted the long-overdue draft of my research paper for stylistics (I love my professor, but her class requirements are killing me), since the first one was a dud and I only passed it for the sake of passing on time, blame it on my mediocrity. Tuesday was allotted for finalizing April's pin and poster design with JB since they were due for release the day after -and I think I may have committed a crime against Agoy because I wasn't able to explain why we changed the designs from those that he initially submitted. I also had to catch up on another long-overdue requirement for my Wednesday class - blame it on my sloth and procrastination. Wednesday was also quiz day, but thankfully the professor had to attend a meeting, so the quiz got postponed. I'm quite lucky, after all. Wednesday afternoon was spent on making revieweres for my tutees' upcoming quarter exams, and the rest of the evening and the wee hours of the morning were spent on finalizing our group report in Stylistics. Thankfully, the report went very well. Early Thursday morning was spent on helping Jen out with her paper in Political Science, helping Anne out with her news article for Journ (jack of all trades, master of some mode), and finalizing the details of my report on Communicative Grammar, which also, thankfully, went quite well- I was able to get away without my professor noticing how unprepared and haggard-looking I was. Friday evening was spent on cutting out April's pins in preparation for an all-out campaign tactic. And I really wish that I could say that Saturday is all mine for the taking, but I had to do research earlier today for an exam due for online submission later. Whew.
Why am I writing this all down? Well, I guess I needed some sort of release: I might not be avble to rest until later on the evening (and that's quite late), and writing it down might help quell the feeling of fatigue. I'm not complaining about the way things are; on the contrary, I'm quite happy. besides, my week wasn't all a dud: it was tiring, but it was also fun. And, for some reason or another, I keep getting free treats: free coffee from Jen, an offer for free cereal from Ausie, and I'm not one to say no to anything free from dear friends. seems as though life has a rewards program, and I'm finally getting the hang of it and starting to cash in. Besides, it's better that I have something to do than not have anything to work on at all. Idle minds are the devil's playgrounds, idle hands his instruments.
